So last week I was trying to eat healthier. I ate salads for lunch every day until Thursday, when as I was assembling my salad the servery people were pointing instant-read thermometers at the salad stuff and looking and the read-out and looking concerned. That grossed me out.
And my salads are awesome. This is how I make my salads:
spring mix on one side, with little piles of my favorite toppings such as: grape tomatoes, edamame, red bell peppers..etc. Then I used sliced cucumber to make a little sub-section on 1/4 of the plate, where I put tuna (they put out canned tuna w/o any dressing on it) or a boiled egg. Then I put dressing (low fat honey mustard or low fat ranch) on the other side of the cucumbers. Tada! Lunch.
And I've started working out again. Malaz and I are working out every day in the private MSA girls room hours (1:30-3:00 or 7-7:30 every day) and it helps knowing that I need to work out so that they will keep giving us the room. The other nice thing about this is that they've assigned personal female trainers to the room for the hour and a half a day - which means I'm getting free personal weight training!! And I've also been trying to play racquetball with Katerina and her friend.
SO everything was going good until Friday. Friday I was in a really mysteriously pissy mood during the day - which started with me waking up late and feeling nasty - and on my way home I got a chocolate frosty. With small fries. SO UNNECESSARY BUT SO GOOD. :(((
I'm going to get back on track though. Back to salads for lunch and cereal for breakfast. But here is the new thing I am concerned about: finals weeks. I know I'm going to end up sleeping in (10am-ish) and missing breakfast, and then staying up late (2am-ish) and getting really hungry at night. I went to target and bought myself the semi-healthy filling snacks I like - dried fruit, graham crackers (don't knock them), barbecue popchips, and snack-bag-100cal-popcorn. I known snacking at night will be inevitable but I want to curb it.
OH! And one more success: I've started taking a multi-vitamin and maybe this is stupid and not news to anyone but I FEEL A DIFFERENCE! I got these gummy adult multivitamins from target. I called the information thing and they use vegetarian gelatin in them. I know they are not the perfect multi-vitamin - there's a couple of things about them that concern me. They don't have any zinc (Hebah - this is a shout out for you), and they have 275 mcg of Lutein - I know it's a negligible amount but Ms. Bissell (Cate's doctor and vegan mom) once gave me this long talk about how Lutein is the devil. THE DEVIL. It leads to Alzheimer's and bad things and awfulness. But it's micrograms - right? I DON'T KNOW!!! But back to how awesome this multivitamin is. I feel sort of different - more awake and fresh?? And my skin has gotten better. But that also might be because of my magical face-mask. Please buy this face-mask.
Okay that is all. This is a really long post. This is what happens when you tell me to type up my feeeeeliiings.
Loooove,
Doha
